MY FICTION

I'm writing my first fantasy novel, and here is where I will blather on about it when it's ready.  I'll provide an excerpt and a synopsis.  I have, however, recently finished writing the rough draft which was an amazing learning experience.

I'd rather not tell you too much about it so that you can experience it for yourself when it becomes available.  But here is some background information to give you an idea.

  • Setting: A made-up world, centering on three vast countries that border each other. Alliances and hostilities ebb and flow between these three nations.
  • Sex Scenes: Yes, please. One or two gay sex scenes of mild to medium explicitness.  The sex isn't intrinsic to the story, but sex scenes can reveal volumes about character so I don't want to avoid them.
  • Sub-Genre of Fantasy: Techno-fantasy.  See Fantasy Glossary.
  • Supernatural Elements / Magic: I really don't want to go into this too much beforehand. I can promise two different species besides humans (but not Dwarves or Elves, rest assured). Also, expect some supernatural powers and different levels of reality.
  • Technology: Military technology on the level of the Vietnam War, and social technology on the level of World War Two.  Don't ask me why; I just happen to see it that way.
  • Viewpoint: Close third-person viewpoints of two characters that alternate by chapter.
  • Violence: Medium-explicit combat violence and fight scenes.

Other Elements Present in the Story:
Atheism, Auras, Cityscapes, Combat, Communism, Cops, Crime, Cultural Contrasts, Friendship, Gender Equality, Group Mind, Homosexuality, Individuality, Military Reconnaissance, Religious Faith, Revolution, and Second Chances.
